Smoked cheddar + chive scones: no eggs, no sugar, no butter - although massive slab of butter for slathering highly recommended. Recipe.... 250g self raising flour, self raising wholemeal or a combo of both, 0.5 tsp salt, 150ml milk, 50g smoked cheddar cheese, 50g plain cheddar, 1 tbsp dried chives (or whatever dried herbs you have). Heat oven to 220°c. Line tray with baking paper. Mix flour, salt and grated cheese in large bowl. Gradually add milk, mix with hands to make rough dough. Knead 1 min. Form into a 2cm thick disc on tray, cut into 8 triangles. Brush top with milk, grate over some parmesan if you have some to hand for extra cuteness. Bake 15 min. Eat warm!
